What better way to spend Valentine’s Day than to be with the one you love, and raise money for the Class of 2016 while dancing the night away.

The first Valentine’s Day dance, a fund raising project to help pay for Project Celebration is Feb. 13, tickets are $10.

“We would like to raise at least $3,000,” class sponsor Yolanda Solis said.

The dance will be held in the commons and it’ll be a fun new experience.

“I think they should keep it a tradition, I mean it would be cool to have something new,” sophomore Bruce Jordan said.

Expectations are high and most people are excited to see the decorations and treats.

“I believe there is going to be non-stop dancing and hopefully lots of food that looks sugary and can get me hyped up,” junior Amey Gomez said.

Staff can experience the Valentine’s Day dance too.

“I think that any activity that is fun and interesting gets the students here to school and provides school spirit is good and we should have more dances,” debate teacher Rick Jordan said.

The freshmen class is the first to enjoy what may become a new tradition.

“I like Valentine’s but it’s not something I would consider a big deal. I’m still not sure if I will be attending the dance but I would like to,” freshman Alejandra Medellin said.

It is one more addition to seniors final high school memories.

It is my last year. I am disappointed that I never had the opportunity to fully take advantage of these events in previous years,” senior Norma Mendez said.
