The enchilada fund raising project principal Antonio Acuña has been planning since the last Leadership meeting is set for Feb. 19, in the commons from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

There is a surprise for seniors, and part of the entertainment includes the elementary schools.

“The main purpose is to raise money not only for seniors but activities for everyone,” Principal Antonio Acuña said.

Some students are complaining that only the seniors will get something out of it.

“We are one family, one destiny. Everyone needs to support even if they aren’t getting anything back, they’ll have their time too,” French National Honor Society sponsor, Paulina Alcaraz.

Organizations were asked to sell 25 tickets each by CIS coordinator Monica Hernandez and make donations because it’s a school project the benefits.

“Helping school projects are always for a good cause,” Spanish Honor Society sponsor Magdalena Sigala said.

Tortillas, oil, rice, cheese, lettuce and tomatoes are being donated by campus organizations, faculty, and staff until Feb. 15.

“We’re going to be selling tickets at $6.50 per plate,” French National Honor Society president Cesar Estrada said.

Acuña is expecting a 90 percent profit to be of use for activities. The principal drove to Hatch, NM. to buy the chile pods for the sauce.

“Since we have to support other sports and clubs this will be the only fundraiser so far so we won’t be competing for money,” Acuña said.

The money raised through the enchilada dinner is slated for the senior trip and other school projects. The dinner is available for eat in or take out and is being prepared by the campus cafeteria staff.
