The Possession of Hannah Grace, directed by Diederick Van Rooijen tells a chilling story about Hannah Grace who went through an exorcism and tragically, died. The film was released on Nov. 30 starring Shay Mitchell and Kirby Johnson.

The movie begins with a doctor who does the autopsy on Hannah’s corpse only to be terrorized by the demon who possessed the corpse. 

Although it has a strong beginning with the terror factor, the constant jump scares get old fast. The trailer for this movie depicts a conflict between the doctor and Hannah that is more suspenseful than the movie. Throughout the movie the doctor can’t believe the corpse is alive. And once characters are killed off they disappear only to be brought back briefly one more time. There is no closure to their storyline.

The plot could benefit from more backstory to the characters so one can feel some emotion when the characters die. The production is like a horror movie school project compared to  Insidious.  Insidious  provides a backstory showing how the family’s life is like before the possession creating an interesting plot.

This movie has the potential to be really good. Fans were excited to watch the actors, but the plot didn’t do them justice.
