Long live The Lion King

Briana Villalobos, Reporter

The Lion King, is one of the best musical movies made by Disney, released in 1994. Roger Allers and Rob Minkoff did an amazing job directing this movie.

The Lion King even opened as a Broadway musical in 1997 and is still playing on Broadway, it’s directed by Julie Taymor. The actors for the Broadway show use animal costumes and hollow puppets.

The movie is breathtaking; it makes one cry, it makes one smile and laugh. The connection that Simba (Matthew Broderick), Mufasa’s son,  has with his father Mufasa (James Earl Jones) is so heartwarming. That is until Scar (Jeremy Irons), Mufasa’s brother, brings death upon the king. This is a cruel and heartbreaking scene.

This movie includes amazing songs such as ‘Circle of life’ and ‘Hakuna Matata’ and many more.

This movie is a must watch if you haven’t already.
