G.E.A.R.S. is a new club on campus sponsored by World History teacher Christian Valdez. This club lets students experience building and creating things.
“The club fosters the curiosity of students and lets their minds go wild,” Valdez said.
G.E.A.R.S. includes fun activities as well.
“The fun things happen when their young minds can start to get ideas about things to build,” Valdez said
This club is perfect for students who like to invent things.
“This club is a great club of everyone and anyone. It’s a really fun club for students,” Valdez said.
Another club, Silver Ink, is a writing club started last year by English II teachers Adriana Nieto and Eric Romero.
“Silver Ink is a space for people to write their own stories or tell their own stories. The story can be creative fiction, non fiction, poetic or mystery,” Nieto said. “In the club we like to take the ordinary and turn it into the extraordinary,” Romero said.
Silver Ink is planning fun and creative activities for the club.
“We will be working on a literary magazine for the club. We will also be doing poetry slams,” Nieto said.
The club is perfect for students who want to write.
“We give the freedom and creative space to write and say what the want,” Romero said.
Sophomore students Megan Zubia and Leslie Salazar are Silver Ink members.
“I very much enjoy being in this being in this club, it makes you a part of something bigger,” Zubia said.
