JROTC hosted the first turkey shoot for faculty and staff at the rifle range located in the JROTC room, to fundraise for the organization. The event was held, Feb. 12, and the challenge was to shoot a rifle at a Cupid cut-out target for a chance to win a prize.

The cost was $10 for $1 per each shot. This was an all day event, faculty and staff went during their off periods.

“We are having national championships next week and are raising money for JROTC and the rifle team, mainly for trips and battalion meetings. Since Valentine’s Day was coming up, this event became the quickest, funnest event to throw,” First Sergeant rifle team member Lorenzo Rivera said.

The first place winner was Edgar Ramirez, second place winner was Jesse Perales and third place winner was Sherri Bryant. The prices were a teddy bear and some chocolates.
