Students made the first point in the Faculty vs. Students basketball game but team Faculty was no joke. They were in it to win with a final score of 61 to the students’ 54.
It is a tradition to have volleyball and basketball Faculty vs. Student games.
“The game is being played so we can have some fun times, it is a way to relax before testing and before seniors graduate,” principal Carmen Crosse said.
There is always speculation as to who will win.
“I think the faculty is getting old so the students have a good chance. I’ve played in three games, won one and lost last year’s,” football coach Ariel Famaligi said.
The Faculty vs. Students game is a fun event to watch. There is a lot of competition once the ball hits the floor. The tension on the court is exciting and even overwhelming at times.
“Honestly I’m really excited about joining this year’s Faculty vs. Students game. Throughout my four years of high school I’ve noticed that each player has seemed really excited, and celebrated their school colors. I’m really excited to be a part of this era,” senior Peter Lopez said.
Faculty vs. Students games are hosted by student activities, sponsored by Cindy Spitz.
