It’s tryout time for three of the four dance teams including Conquerettes, Entrelace and Fuego.

“For the tryouts if they want to practice we have a clinic where we have techniques they will use so they can practice at home,” Entrelace sponsor Gloria Tovar said.

The Entrelace team will be announced Apr. 14 or 15.

“We have a Google Classroom for the people who want to try out and we have 52 people in the classroom, but it’s early so I think more people will join the class to try out. We are looking for someone who can (perform) jazz, hip hop and contemporary,” Tovar said.

The 2023 Conquerettes team is Ashley Aguirre, Tori Almaraz, Evelyn Amaya, Itzel Beltran, Sofia Candelaria, Hennessy Delgado, Karen Esquivel, Nick Fernandez, Noelle Hernandez, Stephanie Hernandez, Ashley Moreno, Giselle Baeza Morales, Danna Munoz,  Valeria Ramo, Denae Sanchez,  Heydie Sanchez, Alyssa Soria, Amri Serna, Natalie Tarango, Denise Torrez, Brissia Vargas.

“We look for students who have good grades, attendance, behavior and a good work ethic. We usually have about 25 to 50 students try out and we are hoping to have at least 25 students for next year,” Conquerettes sponsor Melissa Dominguez.

The Fuego team will be announced on Apr. 14 or 15 too.

“Our tryouts for the team were, March 29- April 1. The first day of tryouts we had 48 students participate but we only had 39 students audition on April 1. We have 18 students in Fuego and usually the most we have for a team is 22 dancers,” Fuego sponsor Tovar said.
