Restrictions or no restrictions the golf team swings away all the competition.

Everyone knows this year has been strange, but not even a virus can stop the boys and girls golf team.

“Golf didn’t get started until January and we had a three-month season. The regular golf season usually starts in September and runs through April, basically the whole school year,” golf coach Oscar Cordova said.

Although the season has not been the normal length the boys and girls golf team have been top tier.

“My varsity girls have played very well and won a few tournaments as medalists. Desiray Munoz came in first in a tournament and the District 2-5A Individual Champion was Adryan Alvarez. The boys had a good season also, they placed in the Top Ten in every tournament we played in. I’m very proud of my golf team.” Cordova said. “This was a great season because Adryan Alvarez was our District 2-5A Individual Champion. Also, most of our freshmen came to practice during the pandemic and they are going to be great golfers.

Since golfers are usually apart from each other the restrictions don’t really affect them.

“It isn’t that different, since most of the time you are already spread apart from your opponents. The only thing I could say that was different is wearing a mask, but even then it wasn’t such a problem,” Desiray Munoz said.
