When arriving downtown on a cold winter night, the downtown plaza awaits with a bright surprise.

San Jacinto Plaza is decorated with 400,000 beautiful lights and a giant 30-foot Christmas tree with 18,400 lights and 900 ornaments attracting people from throughout the city. A total of 121 trees are decorated with a variety of festive lights.

One of the main reasons people go to San Jacinto Plaza is to take pictures. The  human sized ornaments and gifts, the crocodile statue, the giant Christmas tree and the giant ornament are great backgrounds for pictures. Don’t be surprised by the long lines of people waiting to take a picture at these attractions.

The Plaza Cafe offers food, hot chocolate and even rents game equipment to play ping pong,  chess or horseshoes. There is a variety of foods sold in the cafe from churros to burgers. One can even buy a coffee to stay warm in the cold at the nearby Coffee Box .

San Jacinto Plaza is one of the best places families can visit for some holiday cheer.
