Prom is about the pictures, elections, dancing the whole night away until it hurts and most importantly making it a night to remember.

When it comes to prom, prom dresses and tuxedos are the main attraction. Students are inspired by what they see in stores or on social media.

“I am planning to get a dress that is long, soft cotton material, with a good amount of sparkles and a slit on the side,” junior Esme Carlos said. “I have seen those dresses on mannequins and it really convinced me to get it.”

Formals, high-low dresses and two-piece dresses are in the spotlight. Formals usually reach to the floor and come in a variety of colors and patterns. The girls dress to impress with the perfect look for the night.

“I feel like long dresses will always be the main style for girls to wear,” Carlos said. “It’s a look that is simple yet fancy for special occasions.”

The perfect occasion deserves a perfect tux. That’s right, the boys will have to dress to impress as well.

“I am looking forward to wearing a nice tux and impress someone,” senior Victor Martinez said.

Prom tuxedos come in different colors and styles, but one can’t go wrong with the “classic tux”. The classic tux is meant for formal events. The complete attire includes jacket, trousers, a classic tie or bow tie, white button shirt, and formal shoes.

“Any tux can look nice on guys (or even girls) but the classic tux is easier to find and it’s a look that never goes out of style,” Martinez said.

The prom is hosted by the junior class and will be held on April 27 at Tuscany Ballroom.
