The new bosses on the block

2015-2016 presidents elected

They say with great power comes great responsibility.

The next school year is right around the corner and new leaders have been selected. Student Council president for 2015-2016 is Nallely Ramirez, Class of 2016 president is Ariana Solis. These students have taken the challenge to represent the school and ensure the student body a remarkable year.

“I’m looking for go getters, someone that says they are going to do something and does it,” Class of 2016 sponsor Yolanda Solis said.

Years of work culminate to the moment when they are chosen.

“When I found out I was really excited to be a leader, to have people follow me,” next year’s student council president Ramirez said.

To hold such positions students must commit.

“I made Class of 2016 a priority because I quit Entrelace, I gave up a lot of stuff,” Class of 2016 president Ariana Solis said.

Ariana plans on doing as much as it takes to ensure the seniors a memorable year.

“I hope we can all work together and we can all be successful,” Ariana Solis said.

Nallely plans on being a good example to underclassmen.

“That’s my role as student body president,” Ramirez said.

Leaders are not alone in their journey, these students need help from a lot of other students to accomplish all the plans they have.

“I was really excited when I found out about all the other members that got their positions, they are all great kids and I feel like we are going to accomplish so much,” Ariana Solis said.

The competition to get such positions is tight.

“I wish I had more than one president seat to give. They are all great top-notch kids,” Yolanda Solis said.

However, even leaders have worries.

“My biggest worry is to get nervous when I’m speaking in front of a bunch of people,” Ramirez said.

The fear of failure is also there.

“I’m scared of not accomplishing a lot. That the members don’t take it as a priority,” Ariana Solis said.

A great quality of a leader is doing what they have to do regardless of their insecurities.

“I’m confident, I think I’m going to do a good job,” Ariana Solis said.
