Playing experience chalks up team’s success
The varsity basketball boys are doing well. They are getting down and as a team they are coming along. People have seen players give their all, and Conquistadores keep working hard to give their audience what they want.
“Our season is going great we are 7-3 district and total record we are 17-9,” power forward Gino Torres said.
It’s not that the boys are great at playing basketball, they have played together and know each other’s talents for a few years.
“We have being together for a couple of years and we handle that chemistry as team and as brothers,” point guard Isaac Tovar said.
Players not only believe they can take it all the way, they believe in each other and they have each others back.
“I think we are taking district and making playoffs, and for this we have to believe in each other and protect each other as family,” power forward Louie Villalobos said.
Coaches are a big part of this team too, they expect a lot of potential from their players.
“In order for us to win each match, we have to play better as a team, we have to give hundred percent all the time in the court,” varsity coach Mario Vela said.
Players love their coaches, they look up to them. Coaches push players to do everything with finesse.
“Coaches expect us to put work all the time in little things, and they make us play together most of the time to know each other finer,” Torres said.
Conquistadores believe they are not done with being good, they want to be much better because there is no day they take a break.
“We try to work hard every day because I believe we are a good team, but we are not satisfied with where we are, I tell my boys to stay hungry every day,” Villalobos said.
