Student art donations to aid several organizations

Students in advanced art classes are donating their artwork to fund raise for various organizations. Without hesitation, art students participated in working on this project.

Images for these compositions include scenes meant to bring joy to the viewer such as flowers, and animals.

“I chose a bluejay because it represents spirit and freedom and I believe people should feel that when they stare at my painting,” junior Cesar Mercado said.

The money collected from the sale of these artwork is going to benefit the Susan Komen Foundation, Buddy Walk Foundation, Alzheimer’s Foundation, and provide others with food, shelter, medication, and medical help for patients.

“The plan is to display and auction off our work at the YISD offices to benefit multiple organizations,” art teacher Eduardo Saucedo said.

The artwork now displayed in the main hallways of Valle Verde Community College. This project benefited each foundation, as well as the student artists.

“I worked hard on my composition and I hope people enjoy looking at it,” junior Misty Vasquez said.
