REDRUM, REDRUM … The Shining is a must this Halloween

For the winter, the very old and ancient Overlook Hotel is shut down.  Jack Torrance gets hired to be the Overlook’s caretaker during the long months before spring. Waiting for Jack at home is his wife, Wendy and their young son, Danny. Unknown to Jack and Wendy, and Danny is Danny’s psychic ability of seeing into the future and the past. When Jack announces his new job to his family, Danny’s abilities let him see disturbing visions of the history of the Overlook, the ghosts that haunt the building and the gruesome doings of the last caretakers of the hotel. Only time reveals what happens to this family during their habitation in the hotel.

REDRUM, REDRUM…

Cabin fever overtakes the Torrance family in their stay at the Overlook Hotel.

This thriller is suspenseful throughout the slow, deterioration of the minds of the Torrance family. To watch is to pay attention to the subtle changes of the hotel and what is revealed at the end of the movie. This film is a must during Halloween because this movie really messes with the mind.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre

Leather face, also know as the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, is a great scary movie.

With screaming, blood, and gore this movie packs enough punch to leave views paranoid the rest of the night. Who doesn’t like a man who wears the facial skin of his victims as a mask chasing victims with his old red chainsaw.

With suspense and idiotic decisions and drama, Texas chainsaw massacre is a fan-favorite horror movie that will end a great night with viewers hiding under sheets.

Silence of the Lambs

Silence of the Lambs is about a psychopath known as Buffalo Bill. Buffalo Bill is kidnapping and murdering young women in the Midwest. The F.B.I. sends Agent Clarice Starling to interview a demented prisoner. The prisoner is psychiatrist, Dr. Hannibal Lector, an intelligent, murderous cannibal. Dr. Hannibal Lector is only willing to help Clarice Starling if she gives him details about her own complicated life. The relationship that forms between the two leads Clarice to come face to face with her own psychological demons and with a wicked serial killer.

The horror is real in this film. The set inside Bill’s house is dark and murky, resonating with a sense of dread. Ted Levine as Buffalo Bill is absolutely outstanding. He is clearly insane. This is one of the things that makes the movie so disturbing. It is a wonderful film which garnered the top five academy awards of 1991. This film leaves a lasting impression of what it might be like in the mind of a serial killer. Not just one serial killer, but two.

Well, Clarice – have the lambs stopped screaming?

Hannibal’s Rising

October is the month when people crave horror movies. Hannibal’s Rising has the perfect dose of suspense and spine-chilling horror people are looking for. Hannibal is an amazing, intelligent psychiatrist with a twist. He is a man-eating, cannibal. His creepy ways make one squirm and jumpy.

Hannibal as a child was the prince of Lithuania. The castle was invaded by Hitler’s army during World War II. Hannibal and his younger sister Mischa were cast away to a cabin in the woods of Russia. His mother and father died in front of him. His sister was cooked and fed to him. His past hints to the ways of a murderous mind. Hannibal Lecter is the way to go to fulfill horrifying needs.
