2014 Lip Sync: Singing to fundraise
Shortly before Spring Break students jammed out to various songs making the student body laugh hysterically at the annual Lip Sync competition.
“We use it as a fundraiser,” dance teacher Melissa Dominguez said.
Entrelace, Fuego, Class of 2015, the football team, the guitar club, Folklorico, FCCLA were some of the organizations that participated.
“Next year it will probably be open to everyone,” Dominguez said.
This year the Fuego boys took home 1st place by lip-synching to a variety of songs including songs by teenage heartthrobs Justin Bieber and One Direction. The boys danced as well.
“They were having fun, and I was having fun watching them. That’s why they won,” sophomore Diana Limas said.
Guitar took second place, and one of them even dressed as a cow.
“The cow costume was pretty funny, they were so creative,” junior Gerardo Trujillo said.
Participants were rated on how entertaining it was to watch them.
“I couldn’t take my eyes off of them,” Limas said.
Students that participated in the Lip Sync competition practiced and created the routines on their own time.
“Once you’re out there you have to give it your all,” senior Diana Apodaca said.
