Many sports are kicking off their season, and two have new coaches including tennis and cheerleading.
Some may feel it’s hard to coach and teach .
“Sometimes it could be, it just takes a lot of time,” tennis coach Hugo Martinez said.
Martinez, who is the new tennis coach, took his team to playoffs for the first time in four years.
Last year’s cheerleading coach Emma Aveytia moved to Hanks High School, after the cheerleaders became national champions. New cheerleader coach Andrea Lopez Morse, took the role to lead the cheer squad.
Many athletes focus on just the game and don’t pay attention to what is really being created.
It’s not just knowing the sport a bond is made along the way.
“It helps build relationships with the girls and it is more than just the sport,” Lopez Morse said.
Big bad blue is known for having successful sports programs, so many students and faculty have high expectations for the new coaches.
