Main character Pudge has no friends, no interests besides famous peoples’ last words when he encounters one that makes him look at things differently.
He enrolls in boarding school and falls in love. Although the book’s plot is basic, a high school boy in love with a girl out of his league, Green’s essence really makes the story special.
Every quote makes one think, one doesn’t just read about Pudge, flamboyant Alaska and the clever Colonel going through high school, one reads about life, religion and questions everyone has but are too scared to answer such as, “What happens after life?”
Looking for Alaska will have any reader turning pages specially if one is close to the characters’ age.
