Moana, directed by John Musker, was released late December and earned $56.6 Million in its first week.

Director John Musker also directed classic movies like Aladdin, Hercules and The Little Mermaid. The movie is a musical and has songs such as “You’re Welcome” by Dwayne Johnson and “Shiny” by Jemaine Clement.

This is an exciting movie that showcases the Polynesian culture and shows how a daring teenager, Moana (Auli’i Cravalho), sets on dangerous journey to save her people. On her way she meets the once powerful demigod, Maui (Dwayne “The rock” Johnson), who helps her reach her goal. Together they battle their way through the sea taking on enemies including giant lava monsters, huge hermit crabs and adorable coconut warriors.

The film is a one of Disney’s best yet and adds to their diverse collection of princess’ stories.
