Home Alone, 1990 Christmas comedy written and produced by John Hughes and directed by Chris Columbus, always comes out for the holidays.

The McAllister family is preparing for a vacation in Paris, France. But the youngest in the family, Kevin, gets into a scuffle with his older brother and is sent to his room in the attic. The night before the trip the electricity goes out. The next morning the entire family is running to make it to the airport on time, but in all the chaos they accidentally forget all about Kevin. Kevin soon realizes that he is home alone but he believes that he has made his family disappear.

To complicate things two burglars are trying to get into the house. Convinced that he must protect his home, Kevin sets booby traps throughout the house.

This movie is hilarious, but also portrays the innocence of Kevin who soon realizes that all he wants for Christmas is his family. This movie invokes the true meaning of the holidays, which is to bring family together no matter what. After all one has only one family.
