Dining with the dead

There are many places in the city that are reportedly haunted. Everyone loves to be scared and haunted places are especially appealing on Halloween. One haunted restaurant, Monteleone’s, located Downtown is visited by many because of alleged paranormal activity. The restaurant was built on top of an old Spiritualist Association Church which specialized in psychic, healing, natural laws and religion of spiritualism.

“My co workers talked about it being haunted so we went to eat lunch there,” restaurant patron Christina Gonzales said.

Even though many people are aware of the activity in Monteleone’s, they choose to ignore it and continue to go there.

“While I was going to the restroom, someone poked me on my back and I turned around to find no one standing there,” Class of 2015 graduate Savannah Gutierrez said.

Some people have experienced something or even see something unusual.

“We did see some employee’s come out of the kitchen really scared, saying there was some stuff going on in there. When we looked in the kitchen, on the floor were footprints from the (ghost),” Gonzales said.

Employee’s are even frightened to go to work because something seems to scare them away.

“The activity going on there does not stop me from going because it is still a restaurant that has good food, just with a little paranormal activity,” Gonzales said.
