Ferguson Police accused of racial discrimination

Unarmed 18-year-old Michael Brown was shot 12 times by police officer Darren Wilson, August 9.
Brown had just stolen a box of cigarets from a store. All witnesses agree that he ran and then came back, it is unknown whether he was trying to attack or surrender.
“There is no way to justify shooting an unarmed teenager 12 times,” senior Diana Gomez said.
Friends of family of Wilson told cnn.com that Brown shoved Wilson back into his car, punched him, and that is when Wilson pulled out his gun.
“You have to be there to see what you would’ve done,” sergeant Michael Atkins said.
Some of the wounds in Brown’s body coincide with Wilson’s story.
“He [Brown] had to be close in order to leave blood on the officers uniform,” Dominguez said.
The lack of Grand Jury indictment for Wilson led to violent protests.
“It is foolish, they are tearing down their own stuff,” Atkins said.
Some witnesses said to cnn.com that Wilson was the attacker and almost ran over Brown with his police car.
“Some people are still racist even to this day, it is wrong. We shouldn’t judge by color specially talking about justice,” senior Gerardo Trujillo said.
Brown’s family said to cnn.com that after that Wilson shot Brown and as he was trying to move away from the officer he was shot again. He then turned around with his hands up and told the officer he was unarmed. Wilson kept shooting.
“If Brown had attacked him he wouldn’t have been shot so many times, it seems more logical that he were standing far away,” Gomez said.
Evidence from the case has been withheld and miscarried, including the police car that could prove whether officer Wilson was attacked, bullets are missing from Brown’s body, confrontation wounds from the autopsy, and Brown’s clothes that could prove how far away he was when he was shot. Without the facts people will keep making their own assumptions.
“That’s the biggest mistake you could make … never judge anyone until you’ve walked in their shoes. Until you’ve been there,” Atkins said.
