Students now have a choice for lunch. Found in the foyer are many different food vendors that range from pizza to Chinese food.

“The food they sell is good but I wish there was more variety,” junior Nick Mitchell said.

While the food options may be lacking for some students, they are delicious for others. However, there are many procedures to be followed before a vendor can sell their food to students and teachers.

“All vendors must be a district vendor and be approved by the district while also having all necessary permits,” student activities director Cindy Spitz said.

When selling food the vendors must follow safety guidelines to serve food to the students and teachers.

“These vendors must have a seasonal city food permit from the health department, while also having their vendor inspected and considered safe to sell,” Spitz said.

Vendor sales benefit the business and the school.

“These vendors pay various amounts of profit to the club or organization depending on the agreement,” Spitz said.

Either way students enjoy the variety provided by the vendors.

“Lunch is more enjoyable knowing the food I eat is safe,” junior Danny Lopez said.
