Covid- 19 has taken over. This virus has marked its territory even shopping for groceries can be problematic.

Going to the store  is among the most stressful things while practicing social distancing. When someone goes to buy supplies there is  risk of exposure to the Covid-19. There are many things that must be done when going to get supplies.

“It’s possible to contract the virus, while being exposed to it while being surrounded by people, ” reported Angela Rasmussen, NPR, npr.org, April 12.

It is important to shop safely for example by wearing a mask.

“Try to go at a time that is less crowded, such as first thing in the morning or late at evening, so you will keep your distance from other shoppers,” reported Dr. Meyer, Health, health.com, April 1.

When returning home hand washing is recommended because people have been touching bags or if wearing  gloves they can be infected. The next step is to disinfect the groceries and there are many ways to do it.

Disinfecting groceries is now a part of life knowing that others touch the groceries too. Disinfecting groceries may be an important step in preventing others from getting sick.

“While it’s not necessary, you can wipe any plastic packaging, cereal boxes with disinfecting wipes, but it is not necessary to transfer everything to another container, “ Bryan reported, Health, health.com, April 1.

Keeping safe is the key to keep everyone protected. Following the rules and disinfecting groceries may help prevent Covid-19.

“Avoid close contact with people who are sick, stay at home if sick, cover your coughs and sneezes, clean hands and surfaces frequently,”  cdc.gov, published late last year.
